We offer a number of media literacy workshops and trainings a year, aimed at anyone interested in improving their critical thinking skills. The courses are run by experienced facilitators, and cover all the different types of bias that appear in the news media. Participants also learn about their own prejudices, and how these can influence their perceptions and distort their understanding of the outside world.
The methodology and format may vary slightly depending on participants’ strengths and weaknesses, and on the size of the group. The approach is always informal.
The trainings are designed to be as interactive as possible, and include:
- Demonstrations with real examples, so that participants can test themselves, and see for themselves how they can be misled
- Debates and discussions
- Fact-finding assignments
- Presentations (made by participants)
- Case studies
The course material, activities, and exercises are all carefully tailored to each group’s specific interests and needs.
